ARIGATO for Visiting FRUiTS Children's Clothing!

So you want to know about who we are? Well this is my story... I was born in Nagoya Japan where I lived until I was 18 years old. At that time I got the travelling bug and have really been living like a Gypsy ever since (I even worked as an international courier flying from place to place). Eventually I found myself living in Adelaide Australia where I completed a university degree studying International Relations.

So that's really what I did, make friends and learn about life, that was my practical experience of 'international relations'. Throughout my travels I met many beautiful people from all over the world. Then I unexpectedly met a young traveller from somewhere else... My son Noah!
Since his birth I have lived with my husband Patrick, and my good friends in a small housing co-operative near the heart of Adelaide City.

FRUiTS Children's Clothing came about when I decided that I wanted to find some interesting clothes for my son. In all honesty, there were no cool children's clothes in Adelaide, I could not find anything I liked. In my home country Japan, there are so few children and everyone works such long hours, that buying good quality, cool and unique children's clothes is 'serious' business! So I decided to bring the 'serious business' of Japanese children's clothing from the land of the rising sun to the land Down Under...

Friends of FRUiTS
I must take this opportunity to thank my friends and family who have helped out in many different ways. Good advice, support, encouragement and hard work from many of my friends has helped to make FRUiTS Children's Clothing something special. It is wonderful to work with family and friends, and I am fortunate to have people around me who are a constant source of inspiration. First of all, the three boys who have been working hard behind the scenes, and most importantly trying to behave themselves. Alan (aka "Al" or "Owl"), Patrick and Noah.

Goals
Our goal is to have fun, and remember what it is like to be a child and see the world in all its colour through fresh eyes. We would like to offer our clothing in a way that respects, nurtures and celebrates what being a child is all about. In our opinion being a child is about growing, in every sense of the word. Children are so enthusiastic about tasting new things, new experiences.
The name FRUiTS, celebrates this enthusiasm for tasting new things, and simultaneously it illustrates the process of growth and the eventual fruition of childhood. With each season we grow and bear new FRUiTS, our goal is to recognize this process and encourage our customers to keep tasting new things...
Our store features three distinct categories to achieve this goal:
Modern:
We respect the ideas of the future, we nurture the dreams of tomorrow, in each other but more importantly in our children. By exploring new boutique clothes from Japanese designers who are young and dynamic, we celebrate what will be...
Traditional:
We respect those who have taught us the ways of the world, our parents, our grandparents and the cultures, beliefs and customs of the past. We nurture an understanding of that past through education. We celebrate the way things were, and we celebrate the wisdom that comes from recognising the lessons of our ancestors...
Vintage:
We respect the earth who is our mother, and we respect our children's right to inherit that earth in a healthy condition. We nurture the sense of style and quality that can be found in good vintage clothes, and we encourage an appreciation of nature and thankfulness in the attitude of our children for what they have and where it comes from. We celebrate a new life, and new adventures...
